I have been DYING to share some pics of the hats I made for "House of Bias"- So here's a little taste- to see whole collection, you have to come to my event that I'm doing with H.O.B. at John Fluevog this Friday at 7p.m. in Wicker Park Chicago. All hats are completely handmade from the bases on. The hats are mainly made of latex with exception of netting and glass baubles. Also the latex has not been "shined"up. XOXO
This a gorgeous piece of work done by Lillylie, she is a doll maker and animator from the U.K. "Jack and Jill, a Wicked tale is a beautiful and haunting rendition that is totally original. This animated piece has an adult theme, so please refrain from sharing it with the little ones. Show some support and appreciation for her work and efforts. I know this movie has been seen by most people, but I just saw it last night, so this review is for all the other hermits like myself. I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. No, it's not fast paced. No, there are no amazing mind-blowing special effects. No, there are no big fuckin' stars, which may be one of main reasons why this movie is as good as it is. What this movie does have is a fabulous vampire fairytale, presented to you in a simple, straight forward, and honest way. Told through the eyes of children living in a adult's self center world. I usually HATE sappy coming-of-age stories, but this is one without the syrupy nonsense that I find so irritating. I suggest that you see the film in it's original format before it's destroyed by the American re-make (yes- they are doing an American version of the movie).
I just received my necklace today and I adore it! I loved everything in my package-but anyone who knows me, knows how I am about nuns and it's a necklace with a little Porcelain Nun!! The necklace also has a tiny vintage red glass blood drop bead, a vintage silver bead and a crucifix- I love, love, love it! I also have a little POPE to keep her company!!! Thank you Ugly- it's so beautiful, and I'm so pleased with it.
I promise to take better pics of me wearing it but for now:
I really needed an escape today so we went to the movies. I saw the movie "Coraline" in 3-D with my 8 year old twins and it was AMAZING! The story was the one of the best modern fairytales ever and the it was so visually stunning, gorgeous and magical- overall it was fabulous fun. I can't wait to see it again. You can create your button eye pics (once you see the movie-you'll get it) on the "Coraline" website-which in itself is a delight. You can also register to win a pair Nike dunks just like Coraline's, and for you knitters there's a knitting pattern so you can make the super cute star sweater Coraline wears in the film.
